Soulful Sits

Are you looking to relax, gain clarity, manage stress or sleep better?

Hello, I’m Vivienne.

I support and empower busy bayside-folk (like yourself) tackling life’s stressors, through soul-led meditation. I work with various modalities such as: loving kindness, self-compassion, breath awareness, mindfulness meditation, yoga nidra and sound healing to help you live with a more mindful mind.

Why meditation?

Meditation, simply, is the formal practice of mindfulness or devoted attention for the purpose of cultivating calm or clarity, among other states of being (i.e. concentration, patience etc). Definitions aside, meditation is about coming home to yourself. It’s actually the art of doing nothing at all (pausing and pondering) - which is what makes it the perfect antidote to our fast paced way of life. Research has shown that meditation can;

  • Induce a deep state of relaxation

  • Provide clarity in stressful situations

  • Relax and harmonise the nervous system, with flow on effects that manage stress-related conditions

  • Help cultivate greater acceptance of life’s ebbs and flows

  • Increase productivity by improving concentration and memory

  • Settle the body and mind, thus improving sleep quality

  • Lockdown sessions with Vivienne were beacons of light. Taking the time for yourself is one thing, but having the guidance to make use of that time to reset, balance and connect with yourself was something Vivienne fostered so deeply. Those moments were so valuable and the tools given in the sessions that could be used ongoing were things so simple yet so impactful.

  • I highly recommend working with Vivienne. The way she so beautifully holds space for those she is guiding, the tone of her voice, and the way she has the perfect balance between giving space and giving guidance. It makes the practitioner feel safe, and know that they're taken care of as they’re guided into mindfulness. She has this huge wealth of knowledge and compassion that pairs together to create the perfect teacher.

  • Vivienne is a thoughtful, kind, nurturing meditation teacher, who across four weeks took us on a beautiful, caring journey. I feel so blessed to have a greater appreciation of this gift; meditation.

  • Vivienne's warm and thoroughly knowledgable approach to teaching meditation has helped me create my own practice. A practice which has given me more space just for me.

FAQ’s

  • As the age old saying goes, “you won’t know until you try”.
Meditation is the antidote to the hustle and bustle of life. Soulful Sits (meditation) is just right if you seek to feel clearer, calmer and more content.

  • I’ll be frank, meditation is not a panacea. It’s not something you do once, or only when you ‘need it’ and expect life changing results. The ingredients of a therapeutic meditation practice include consistency, openness and patience. Not to sound like a Nutri-grain advertisement but, you get out what you put in. With that in mind, I recommend at minimum three sessions with me, alongside independent home practice.

  • Group classes: Late arrivals with not be permitted to enter class. I hope you can understand that this is out of respect to those who have already settled in and ensures that I deliver a high quality practice. Please arrive 10 minutes before the class start time. This will also help you to go deeper into your practice as you aren’t feeling rushed.

Private Sessions: Late arrival without notice will come out of scheduled time. No refunds or reschedules available for no-shows.

  • Cancellations are permitted up to 12 hours prior for private sessions and 4 hours prior for group classes.

You are able to reschedule your session via the link in the confirmation email sent when you made the booking. If you are having trouble with this please email: vivienne@amindfulmind.com.au

  • A towel - what to bring when you are told not to bring a thing!

I love a good pun, ad reference, dad joke!

Jokes aside, I recommend bringing a towel to cover the mat but all other props are provided.

    Each person’s meditation nook/seat includes: 1 x mat, bolster, pillow & blanket.

It’s common for ideas or wisdom to arise in meditation. Emotions also make their way to the surface so you might find it cathartic to journal after the practice, therefore BYO journal and pen.
